This publication is mainly aimed at searching for new approaches of evaluation of archaeological finds originating from Prehistoric as well as Early Medieval settlements. Attention was paid to common collections of artefacts obtained from settlement features, i.e. primarily to the highly fragmentarized pottery. The evaluation focuses on archaeological evidence from the Terminal Bronze Age settlement at Roztoky u Prahy obtained during extensive field work conducted by the Institute of Archaeology in Prague in the years 1980–1983. The book represents not only a standard publication of this type of archaeological evidence but also an attempt to define processes of its creation and to determine particular basic terms in the field of the so-called deposition analysis. Moreover, this publication presents a descriptive system of pottery from the given period of time and several new approaches to the Terminal Bronze Age culture, e.g. in the field of building constructions, artefact functions, model of residential area and character of agriculture system
